Mission/Core Purpose of the Job:

  • Engage Co-operators with whom the Cooperative has an existing relationship with a focus on cross-selling all available/needed products of the cooperative
  • Provide customized value proposition & requirements to Co-operators
  • Manage a regular update from the client for newly joined employees.
  • Deliver promptly, and clarify what is needed for an effective first/ continuous discussion
Specific Duties & Responsibilities: (Strategic)

  • Generation of new Cop-operators sign-ups
  • Relationship Management of existing Co-operators effectively to facilitate portfolio growth
  • Driving Activations and penetration of signed up schemes based on assigned targets
  • To assess the risk profiles of customer segments and contribute to the development of effective control measures within the business.
  • Adherence and compliance to the Cooperative standards on Operations risk and Customer due diligence (CDD), Service standards
  • To grow the Cooperative portfolio through a focused market segment approach by creating effective relationships that maximize revenues and asset growth
  • Organize quarterly onsite activations/storms for Co-operators targeting a focused Product
  • Establish relationships with non-existing potential Co-operators
  • To support in the launch of products, sales strategy, and campaigns to key segments for profitable and quality business
  • Liaise with relevant departments to ensure that Cooperators’ instructions /requests are treated accurately and timely.
  • Drive penetration and cross-sell to existing Co-operators

Target Clients

The target clients for this role include but are not limited to

·       All existing Co-operators in the Cooperative,

·       Immediate family of Co-operators and

·       Eligible Co-operators within the system

Sources of leads

·       Existing Co-operators, the immediate family of co-operators, and referrals from them

Relationship Management

·       Generate referrals from CMC and Senior Executives and other stakeholders to acquire, expand and retain profitable relationships and grow market share

·       Work closely with other departments in the Cooperative to generate sales leads

·       Generate referrals and use Market Intelligence to achieve deeper relationships with customers

·       Business Planning & Financial Management

·       Source for potential Co-operators and recommend their inclusion based on gathered need

·       Advise the Business on Co-operators who exhibit high-risk policies and practices hence controlling and managing risk

Product broadening

·       Enhanced multi-product Personal knowledge

·       Market and competition knowledge

Client engagement

·       Presentation and soft skills tailored to engaging business owners

·       Closing deals

·       Communication and presentation skills

·       Negotiation and objection handling

·       Client training on digital solutions

·       Understanding of Personal KYC principles

Know-How And Experience

  • Excellent planning skills and ability to interact with all levels.
  • Good MS Office skills particularly strong capabilities in MS Excel.
  • Must understand the use of accounting software.
  • Must be focused and result-oriented.
  • Able to work independently and highly meticulous.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Improved turn-around-time in resolving customer complaints
  • Ability to cross-sell varying products from the Cooperative
  • Timeliness in packing of credit products for Co-operators
  • Lack of Non-performing loan
  • Timely regularizing of any assigned delinquent loan from Cooperators on Cross posting or owing Cooperators

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a recognized university with a minimum of the second-class Lower division.
  • Minimum of 3 years cognate work experience from a reputable organization/Institution
  • A Master’s degree in Business administration will be an added advantage.

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • At least 3-year experience in relationship management in a financial institution
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to extensively analyze business opportunities
  • Strong business/client engagement skills
  • Experience developing business requirements
  • Experience developing instructional and procedural documentation and presentations
  • High level of competence with MS word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Capable of working independently and with minimum supervision
  • Unquestioned personal integrity with strong ethics and values
  • Showcase good analytical and evaluating skills
  • Good human relations.
  • Good experience in customer service.
  • Good working knowledge of the bank’s operating systems.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good working knowledge of the Cooperative’s products and services.
  • Good Microsoft skills.
